Sharon D. Oetting, from Concordia, Mo, has co-owned and managed Oetting Hog Farms since 1981.  The 650 acre farm produces corn, soybeans, and markets nearly 2,400 hogs annually. 

She was named Farm Journal’s Spokesperson of the Year and received the Missouri Master Farmer’s Award.  In 2009, her farm received the National Pork Board’s Environmental Stewardship Award. 

Oetting has also served on St. Paul’s Lutheran School Board and the Lafayette County Farm Service Agency (FSA) Committee.  In 2009, Oetting was appointed by the Obama Administration to serve on the Missouri FSA State Committee.
